Steps to vounteering
- Prospective volunteers should fill out the Application. Apps should be mailed or emailed by October 1.
- Applicants will be contacted for an interview.
- All volunteers should attend training on the morning of October 4 or arrange for a private training session.

Hockey Coach
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Mentor youth and teach hockey.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend Wednesday morning practices, Saturday practices/games, volunteer training sessions, background check, drive players, and abide by Dinomight policies.
REQUIRED:
Sensitivity to diversity, love for youth, ability to skate. Desired (but not required): Hockey background.
DAY & TIMES OF OPPORTUNITY:
Saturday mornings and or afternoons, Wednesday mornings 6:45-8:00am, occasional weeknights. October through March. 3-5 hours per week.
OPPORTUNITY IS APPROPRIATE FOR:
Adult or Teens/Youth (Age range: 16 or older)
Academic Tutor
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Mentoring, teaching basic reading and math skills, and homework help.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend Tuesday afternoon tutoring sessions, volunteer training, background check, abide by policies, and drive students.
REQUIRED:
Sensitivity to diversity, love for youth, posses 10th grade or higher academic level. Desired: Strong educational interest.
DAY & TIMES OF OPPORTUNITY:
Tuesdays 5:00pm-6:00pm October through May. 1-2 hours per week
OPPORTUNITY IS APPROPRIATE FOR:
Adults or Teens/Youth (Age range: 16 and older)
General Volunteer
OPERATIONS FUNCTIONS:
Office administration, tying skates, equipment management/inventory.
EVENT FUNCTIONS:
Assist with Banquet, Sell WILD Programs, teach skating/tie skates at Learn 2 Skate, summer hockey camp, teach at summer academic camp.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend as applicable, volunteer training, background check, abide by policies, and drive students.
REQUIRED:
Sensitivity to diversity, love for youth.
Desired: A desire to serve.
DAY & TIMES OF OPPORTUNITY:
Various
OPPORTUNITY IS APPROPRIATE FOR:
