E-Mentor

E-Mentor - Elementary, Middle, High School

Mentor youth. E-Mentors support students academics and Social Emotional Learning by phone or video chat.  Staff will provide standard check in questions for mentor and student to discuss each week.  Mentor will help answer academic questions if possible.  Elementary mentors will read with students if possible.  

Time Commitment: Minneapolis Elementary 

  • October - early April.
  • 2 Check-Ins per week

Time Commitment: St. Paul Elementary 

  • October - early April.
  • 2 Check-Ins per week

Time Commitment: Middle School

  • October - May.
  • 2 Check-Ins per week

Time Commitment: High School 

  • September - May.
  • 2 Check-Ins per week

Skills Needed:

Completed 10th grade+. Training and support provided.

Other Requirements:

Embrace mission of DinoMights. Sensitivity to diversity and love for youth. Pass background check. Attend volunteer training sessions and abide by DinoMights’ policies.

Perks & Pro Tips:

E-Mentoring calls can be made at times that are convenient for both mentor and student.

Getting Involved

It's easy to volunteer at DinoMights. Follow these steps to become a volunteer:

  • Prospective volunteers should fill out the application. Click the button on this page or the Volunteer Application link in the menu to download the Volunteer Application Form. (Link is only active when volunteer recruiting is underway for upcoming season.)
  • Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview. There are a limited number of spaces available. Not all applicants will be contacted for an interview.
  • All volunteers should attend training.
