5K, 10K, or "Just Fundraise," which means you plan to support DinoMights, but not to run.
Fundraising Incentives: Everyone involved in the Billy Lindsay Run is invited to raise funds for DinoMights. There are some amazing incentives for your fundraising. Shoes, Shirts, Hats, Coffee Mugs, Jackets, Trips, and more! Click here for Fundraising Tips.
Teams: We encourage everyone to get friends involved and join/create a Billy Lindsay Run Team. Your team can compete for Team Incentives and you can challenge other teams.
Virtual or In Person: This year's Run will give you the option of participating virtually or in person. All participants will receive a T-shirt, regardless of format.
Virtual: You can run or walk in your own neighborhood, on a treadmill, wherever you'd like! You can choose when you plan to run as well. We hope you'll join in the collective energy of 5/22/21, but if that doesn't work for you go ahead and do your run a different day! We would love it if you could take a selfie and share that with us and your network as well.
In Person: The In Person Run will be at Lake Nokomis at 9:00 AM on May 22.
Carrie Tollefson, Run Ambassador:
We have the great privilege to announce that Carrie Tollefson, legendary local runner will be our 2021 Run Ambassador. Carrie was born and raised in Dawson, MN where she was a 13-time State Champion. She attended Villanova University, where she was a 5-time NCAA Champion and the 1998 NCAA Indoor Track Athlete of the year. She was also the first person in NCAA history to win both the 3K and 5K titles. In her post collegiate career, she was a three time national champion and after winning the 1500m trials in 2004, she represented the US in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Billy Lindsay: The run/walk is named after Dr. William Lindsay, renowned heart surgeon, friend and coach to many. Dr. Lindsay, a.k.a. Billy Lindsay, was motivated by a powerful mentor to pursue his dreams, and we've now named our Outdoor Rink on the Minneapolis Greenway in his honor, located at 2838 5th Avenue South. Here is a link to his story.
