Hockey Coach

Mentor youth and teach hockey. Drive players to and from practices and/or games.

Time Commitment:

  • October - March.
  • 3-7 hours/week for games and practices based on current schedule.
  • Saturday mornings and/or afternoons, weekday early mornings and occasional weeknights.
  • Minneapolis Mites: Saturday Mornings, Possible early morning Wednesday, Possible Monday or Friday Weeknight.  2-3 sessions per week.
  • St. Paul Mites: Saturday Mornings, Wednesday Evenings, 1 other Possible other ice time varied.  2-3 sessions per week.
  • Squirts: Saturdays, possible Thursday morning practice, possible Monday evening, Tuesday Evening, other varied times for games. 3-4 sessions per week.
  • U10 and U12 Girls: Saturdays, Sunday Afternoons, possible Thursday morning practice, other varied times for games. 3-4 sessions per week.
  • PeeWees: Saturdays, possible Thursday morning practice, possible Monday evening, Tuesday Evening, other varied times for games. 3-4 sessions per week.
  • INDICATE AGE PREFERENCE AND SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY IN APPLICATION.

Skills Needed:

Hockey knowledge preferred but not required.

Other Requirements:

Embrace mission of DinoMights. Sensitivity to diversity and love for youth. Pass background check. Attend volunteer training sessions and abide by DinoMights’ policies.

Getting Involved

It's easy to volunteer at DinoMights. Follow these steps to become a volunteer coach or tutor:

  • Prospective volunteers should fill out the application. Click the button on this page or the Volunteer Application link in the menu to download the Volunteer Application Form. (Link is only active when volunteer recruiting is underway for upcoming season.)
  • Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview. There are a limited number of spaces available. Not all applicants will be contacted for an interview.
  • All volunteers should attend training.
