About Volunteering

Volunteers at DinoMights enable us to multiply our impact on urban youth!

  • Coaches and tutors help us provide pivotal academic instruction, hockey assistance, and most importantly mentoring relationships.
  • You can also help DinoMights by serving in ways that support our staff or expand our capacity to serve youth. Many roles are great for small groups! Click here to learn more.
  • We also have opportunities for small groups or individuals to help with periodic projects like Greg Carroll Learn 2 Skate and our Brother/Sister Teams.
  • Or if you'd like to donate your professional skills to build DinoMights' capacity to serve urban youth, we would love to talk to you about partnering with you or your organization!

Each year, there are  over 40 coaches, tutors, and mentors involved in the program. Coaching and tutoring volunteers receive training and follow-up assistance from the program staff at the beginning and throughout the year. DinoMights hosts a Fall Training and Orientation Day and team development for all of our volunteers and staff to prepare in the areas of academic tutoring and hockey instruction for the year.

"I signed up to be a coach for Hockey in the Hood camp as my 'community service' project for the year. Nine years later, I'm still here. I think DinoMights has done more for me than I've done for them."

Longtime PeeWee Coach
& Wells Fargo Community Service Award Winner
